Who we are

Information collected through the contact form

If you contact Manic through the form on the Manic Is page, you provide your name, email address, a subject category, and the message you choose to send. The form also records the submission date and time and the IP address directly observed by the website server.

This information is used to read and respond to your inquiry, question, or feedback; preserve the context of the conversation; prevent spam and abuse; and protect the website. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, health information, government identification numbers, or other sensitive information through the form.

Contacting Manic is not a newsletter signup

Sending a message does not subscribe you to a newsletter, marketing list, or promotional email. Your email address is not added to a mailing list merely because you contacted Manic. There is currently no public newsletter signup on this website. If one is introduced later, it will require a separate and explicit opt-in.

Where contact messages are kept

The contact form does not save your name, email address, subject category, or message as a WordPress post or permanent website database record. The message is sent by email and retained only in the owner’s email account and the systems used to transmit and provide that email service.

For rate limiting, the website temporarily stores a short, one-way keyed hash derived from the connection IP address together with a submission count. It does not contain your name, email address, or message, is not designed to reveal the original IP address, and expires after no more than 15 minutes.

How long information is kept

Contact messages are kept in the owner’s email account only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain the conversation or related business record, protect against abuse, resolve a dispute, or meet a legal obligation. They may be deleted sooner when no longer needed. A deletion request will be honored where applicable unless the information must be retained for a legitimate legal, security, or recordkeeping reason.

Technical data, logs, and cookies

Like most websites, the web server or hosting provider may automatically process or log technical information needed to deliver and secure the site. This can include IP address, browser or device information, requested page, referring page, and request date and time. Any such logs are separate from the contact-form message and are retained according to the hosting provider’s operational and security settings.

Manic does not currently use public-facing visitor accounts, comments, advertising pixels, or third-party visitor analytics. The site does not intentionally set advertising or analytics cookies for ordinary visitors. WordPress may set necessary administrative or login cookies for authorized site administrators.

Google Fonts

This website loads the Montserrat typeface from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font stylesheet and files from Google, which means Google receives technical request information such as your IP address, browser information, requested resource, and request time. Google’s handling of that information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Purchases and outside websites

Manic does not process purchases, payments, shipping details, or customer accounts on this website. Product links lead to independent Cotton Bureau, Redbubble, Threadless, or TeePublic storefronts. Once you follow one of those links, the outside site’s terms, cookies, and privacy practices apply. When information may be shared

Manic does not sell or rent personal information. Contact-form information may be processed by the website host, outbound mail service, and email provider only as needed to transmit, secure, and store the message. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights or safety, or investigate abuse. Following an outside link sends your browser directly to that provider and may pass ordinary technical request information such as your IP address and referring page.

Legal basis and automated decisions

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, Manic processes contact information to respond to your request and for the legitimate interests of communicating with visitors, operating and securing the website, preventing abuse, and maintaining necessary business records. Information may also be processed to comply with legal obligations. Manic does not use contact-form information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask what personal information Manic holds about you, request a copy, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, or make a complaint to the privacy or data-protection authority where you live. Reasonable measures are used to limit access to contact messages and protect the website from abuse. No internet transmission or email system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please limit your message to information needed for your inquiry.
